Dr. Shah is a Harvard-trained physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation who has been dedicated to the eradication of pain in the Dallas area since 2003. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Duke University and his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Shah also received a MS in Pharmacology from Tulane and a Masters of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health. Following this, he completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at Harvard’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts (consistently recognized as one of the Top 5 Pain Management Hospitals in the country by U.S. News and World Report).
Dr. Shah specializes in interventional and non-interventional pain treatments for conditions such as arthritis, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), peripheral neuropathy, facial pain, temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ), fibromyalgia, foot pain, headaches, hip and leg pain, knee pain, neck pain, low back pain, motor vehicle injuries, pelvic pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, trigeminal neuralgia, vertebral body fractures, and whiplash pain, among others. Dr. Shah is proficient in interventional procedures including adhesiolysis, cervical, thoracic, lumbar and caudal epidural steroid injections; lumbar discography, cervical, thoracic and lumbar facet joint injections; medial branch blocks, occipital nerve block, radiofrequency ablation, sacroiliac joint injections, intercostal nerve blocks, peripheral nerve block, neurolysis, prolotherapy and joint injections; and botox for pain and headaches, among others. He also performs EMGs and NCVs.
Dr. Shah’s treatment philosophy centers on a holistic, evidence-based care approach using conservative treatment including therapy and physical rehabilitation, medications and injections. His experience and education allow him to provide each patient with thorough care and a highly effective course of treatment. In addition, Dr. Shah utilizes interventional techniques for patients whose pain does not respond to the initial course of treatment.
Dr. Shah is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a member of the American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Shah’s research and innovative use of advanced technology have been presented and recognized by several of these associations.
