Dr. Kent Aftergut specializes in all aspects of dermatology and places a strong emphasis on lifelong health and vitality of the skin. “We don’t just worry about the cosmetic aspects of our patient’s skin,” he says. “We take special care in making sure the overall skin health is always addressed. We recommend all of our patients receive a thorough full body skin exam to check for skin cancer.”
Dr. Aftergut’s professional interests include infectious disease, psoriasis, and the treatment and prevention of skin cancer. He and his staff treat patients of all ages, including children and teenagers. Realizing common acne can have severe affects on teenager’s confidence and quality of life, Dr. Aftergut treats this group as aggressively as needed to get the patient better.
A native Texan, he has been in practice in the Cedar Hill area for eight years and recently opened offices in North Dallas at Medical City Dallas Hospital. Dr. Aftergut is board certified in dermatology by the American Academy of Dermatology. He is a clinical instructor of dermatology at the UTSW department of dermatology and the immediate past president of the Dallas Dermatological Society. He has been quoted in the New York Times and CNN discussing dermatology and was featured on the Animal Planet’s series, “Monsters Inside Me.”
