He also served as chief resident during that period. His training focused on both preventative and reconstructive foot and ankle surgery as well as diabetic limb preservation surgery. Dr. Legel recently founded Advanced Foot & Ankle Care Specialists.  He is looking forward to building his practice with a community based approach focusing on patient education and understanding.  As a newer practitioner, Dr. Legel’s surgical training is exceptional when compared to his more mature, well-established peers.  He has also kept up to date with the latest training techniques and skills and is well versed in all aspects of podiatric medicine.  He also attends several courses per year.  His areas of practice interests include diabetic limb salvage, wound care, reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, as well as sports medicine and trauma.

Dr. Legel is often accused of spending too much time with his patients, making sure they understand the intricate details of their conditions and providing them with a comprehensive treatment plan.  His hobbies include the Miami Dolphins, fishing, and cooking.  He is married and has 3 boys under the age of 5.
