Jay Mabrey was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, on December 13, 1954. He spent his early years in Norman, Oklahoma, and moved to Warren, Ohio, when he was 13. He graduated from Cornell University cum laude in biological sciences in 1977 and from Cornell University Medical College in 1981.
Dr. Jay D. Mabrey is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He specializes in disorders of the hip and knee and is fellowship-trained in total joint replacement and total joint revision, He is a leading expert in the field of computer navigated total knee replacement and holds patents on total knee designs. As the former Chairman of the FDA Orthopaedic Device Panel, Dr. Mabrey is well-versed in the latest orthopaedic technology. Dr. Mabrey has published several articles on the comprehensive management of total joint patients before, during, and after surgery. Dr. Jay Mabrey serves as the Chief of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor University Medical Center and is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Texas A&M School of Medicine.
