Dr. Holper is an interventional cardiologist with Dallas Cardiovascular Specialists at Medical City Dallas Hospital. She is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology, with a specialty in interventional cardiovascular disease. She practices invasive, noninvasive, vascular, and interventional cardiology. Dr. Holper attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine internship and residency, general cardiology fellowship, and interventional cardiology fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. During her fellowship she also completed coursework at the Harvard School of Public Health for a Master’s in Public Health, with a focus on statistics and epidemiology.
After her training, Dr. Holper was in faculty at the University of Chicago as an interventional cardiologist. She was recruited to UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas as an associate professor of medicine to serve as Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Director at Parkland Hospital and to initiate an interventional cardiology fellowship training program and serve as program director. Her clinical interests include interventions for complex coronary disease including chronic total occlusions, catheterization and interventions via radial arterial access, and peripheral vascular interventions.
Dr. Holper has a strong interest on research in the area of cardiovascular interventions. She has previously funded grants evaluating cardiovascular disease specifically in women. Her peer-reviewed publications describe outcomes after coronary interventions in subgroups of patients such as women and patients of Hispanic ethnicity, as well as patients with diabetes mellitus, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and peripheral arterial disease. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions and a member of the American Heart Association and Society of Vascular Medicine.
Dr. Holper is married to Jeremy and they have three sons: Lucca, Charlie and Emmett. In her free time, she enjoys running and building Lego structures with her sons.
