Daniel Stromberg, MD, completed his residency in General Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, where he also served an extra year as Chief Resident in Pediatrics. He subsequently completed three years of training in Pediatric Cardiology, and an additional year of fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care and Heart Transplantation at Texas Children’s Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston.
Dr. Stromberg joined the pediatric faculty at UT Southwestern in 1998 as the first cardiac intensivist in the Pediatric ICU. In 2002, he became Director of the Cardiac ICU at Children’s Medical Center, Dallas. While there, in addition to his clinical and teaching responsibilities, he conducted several research projects which were published in national, peer-reviewed journals. In 2009, Dr. Stromberg transferred his practice to Medical City Children’s Hospital where he currently serves as Director of the Congenital Heart Surgery Unit. He continues to teach and provide direct care for patients as a member of Pediatric Cardiac Intensivists of North Texas. Furthermore, he remains dedicated to research in areas such as optimization of circulatory support for children, and the inflammatory response to congenital heart disease.
Dr. Stromberg is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is originally from Dallas, and he is married and has two children, ages 14 and 11.
