Profile
The Texas Visual Arts Association, founded in 1947, is an organization that creates a connection between artists and art lovers by exhibiting work, hosting seminars, offering workshops, and organizing museum tours. Since 2006, TVAA has operated a downtown gallery inside the Plaza of the Americas on Pearl Street, where shows featuring paints, pastels, watercolors, sculpture, photography, and even computer-generated art rotate. The exhibition schedule is reliably consistent: the gallery hosts 12 shows per year, and each runs one month. Past exhibitions have included displays of fiber art, works commemorating Day of the Dead, and new member shows featuring the artwork of those who recently joined the TVAA ranks. The gallery can be rented out on a monthly basis.
