Profile

Home to the Grand Prairie AirHogs baseball team, QuikTrip Park was built in 2007 for about $20 million, a bargain compared to most sports facilities today. But the stadium didn’t skimp on the amenities, offering baseball fans a swimming pool, play areas for the kids, and room to seat more than 5,400. Because the seating capacity is relatively low, there’s no nosebleed section, so fans can enjoy great views from any seat.

Just beyond the left field wall is Whiskey Charlie’s, a massive restaurant and full-service sports bar with 35 flat-screen TVs, a cigar bar, and standard game-day fare such as burgers and wings. The Wide World of Parks kids’ zone sports basketball and whiffle ball courts, a playground, miniature golf, and more.

In the spirit of independent baseball, QuikTrip Park hosts fun-filled promotional events, such as “Octomom Night,” complete with a baby food eating contest, stroller race, and plenty of Octomom impersonators. Concerts are also occasionally on the calendar, with big-name acts such as Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and John Mellencamp.
