Profile

This gallery was established in 2002 as a space where professional artists—local, national, and international—could bring their works to the attention of the community. Located inside the South Side on Lamar, the gallery was first known as South Side Gallery until 2004, when the name was changed to commemorate artist Janette Kennedy. Exhibits typically run for one to two weeks and offer an array of art, from paintings and sculpture to woodcuts, found art, and graphic art. Past exhibitions have included “The Art of Skateboard,” featuring dozens of brightly painted skate decks, and “The Art and Heart of a Motorcycle,” which brought rows of bikes inside the gallery. The gallery does not charge for use of its space, nor does it take commission on pieces sold.
