Profile

The Dallas Center for Architecture was opened in 2008 by the Dallas chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The goal: to provide some context to the significance of architecture in the city. Its primary focus is to create a network that connects the architectural community with citizens who are interested in issues relating to architecture in Dallas. The center hosts events and educational exhibits that bring attention to issues like community sustainability and planning.

The Dallas Architecture Forum has hosted panels at the center, bringing in architects, designers, and artists to discuss such topics as collaboration in architectural projects and renovating modern architecture. The center has shown films, held art and photography exhibits, and more—all at no cost to the public. Best of all, its downtown location provides up-close views of some of Dallas’ most impressive architectural innovations, and it’s within walking distance of the architecturally significant Arts District.
