The Courtyard Theater is home to many cultural events, meetings, and special events, including performances by the Plano Symphony Orchestra. Formerly the Cox Gymnasium, the theater was built as a 1938 Works Progress Administration project. A renovation in 1999 aimed to protect the historic materials and style of the old building, while incorporating modern functionality. The Courtyard Theater is conveniently located near a DART light rail station.
