In 2016, downtown Dallas (the Cedars, if you really want to split neighborhood hairs) got its first movie theater in years. The Dallas outpost promises the same things as its fellow Alamo Drafthouses in Austin and Richardson: Food, drinks, and a no-nonsense policy regarding cell phone use during the show. And movies: Lots and lots of movies. Along with first-run films, Alamo regularly hosts “quote-alongs” and a variety of other special screenings and events that will appeal to devoted cinephiles.
The Vetted Well, a bar on the second floor of the theater, offers a lovely view of the Dallas skyline, two patios, and movie-themed cocktails.
