Profile

WordSpace is a non-profit organization that aims to support local artists and make their work accessible to the interested public of North Texas. Since 1994, the group has featured countless authors and poets, including Robert Creeley, James Kelman, Isabel Nathaniel, and Gerald Burns, as well as musicians from Ray Wylie Hubbard to Townes Van Zandt. Aside from the obvious selection of concerts and readings WordSpace organizes, the group also hosts salons. These meetings are held in private homes and allow for close encounters with authors and artists from across the country. The only catch? You’ve got to be a WordSpace member to attend, but annual membership dues are just $35. WordSpace also has sporadic writing workshops in which authors discuss both the literary and business side of life as a writer.
