The works done by the Trinity Trust Foundation won’t hang in a gallery or be performed on a stage. Instead, what this organization helps create will be seen around the city for many years to come. Trinity Trust raises private funds to help with the massive $2.2 billion Trinity project, a development plan aimed at improving a 20-mile stretch of the Trinity River (and its surrounding land) that runs through the heart of Dallas. Private funds raised by Trinity Trust can help finance major aspects of the project, from hike and bike trails to athletic fields to manmade lakes. Trinity Trust can even pitch in to aid in the construction of the Margaret Hunt Hill and Margaret McDermott bridges—known around town as the Calatrava bridges—which are a central part of the Trinity project.
In order for the community to better understand just what it does, the Trinity Trust Foundation organizes symposia and presentations for the public. It also operates a pair of membership groups—the River Rats for youths and the Pack Rats for older adults—that provide lectures, social events, and more to members.
